Accessibility

Last updated October 18, 2026

I want this site to work for as many people as possible. I aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA. Here is what I checked, what I have not, and where it falls short.

What I checked

  • Automated audit: Lighthouse scored accessibility 100 on the home, projects, resume, contact, and homelab pages and on two project posts.
  • Contrast: I measured the color pairs the site uses, in light and dark mode. Body text is well above the 4.5 to 1 minimum.
  • Color vision: I viewed the site and the tools under simulated red-blind, green-blind, and blue-blind vision, and in grayscale. I found nothing that depends on color alone.
  • Zoom and small screens: pages reflow down to a 320 pixel width without scrolling sideways.
  • Text spacing: on the pages I tried, text still reflows with nothing cut off when letter, word, and line spacing are increased.
  • Motion: the site respects your reduced-motion setting, and demo videos start paused if you have it on.
  • Structure: there is a skip link, pages use one main heading with headings in order, and the page language is set.

What I have not done

  • I have not tested with a screen reader such as VoiceOver or NVDA.
  • No one with a disability has reviewed the site. These checks are my own.

Known gaps

  • The IT Skills Kit is built for a desktop browser with a mouse and keyboard. It does not support touch screens yet.
  • The demo videos on two project pages have no sound. Each has a text description and a caption, but no transcript.
  • Screenshots in posts are pictures of tools, so their small text cannot be read by assistive technology. The text around them describes the tool.
